Hi,
I retook gmat yesterday and improved by 10 points from 690 t0 700.However, later I realized that my quant has gone down From Q 49(79%) in first attempt to Q47(67%) in second attempt.Could someone please let me know if the second score would actually cause damage to my first score?Or is it ok since b schools can see both of my scores?Both exams were taken in the past two months.
GMAT 1 690 Q49(79%) V35(76%)
GMAT 2 700 Q47(67%) V38(85%)
I am an Indian male with IT background.

Your 2 scores are essentially the same score, so most Business Schools won't 'respond better' to one score over another. If you're planning to apply to a highly competitive Finance Program (or Special Program), then the Q49 would likely be preferable (since those types of programs tend to put an emphasis on an applicant's Quant Scaled Score).
Since you're ultimately asking Admissions questions, you might want to pose them to the Admissions Experts in their Forum:
