Hi all,

Does criteria for the subscores that determine the final score (200-800 scale) change over time? For example, I am seeing several posts in which people have scored a 770 with a 49Q and a 46V. However, I scored a 760 last week with the exact same sub scores.

If this does change every year, are the top business schools (M7) acknowledging the subscores or do they only care about the final score? Meaning, does someone who took the test two years ago and got a 770 with the same subscores as I got have a competitive edge over me with my 760 (assuming all other factors are equal)?

Thanks!

Hi lx468,

First off congrats for the score.
As bb said, the same breakup can lead to different scores. Your score might be near the 760 mark than the 770 mark.
There would have been people 2 years back also who would have got different scores for the same break up.
But rest assured, at this level of scoring, this will not at all be a make or break situation for the B-Schools.
