Ideally you would do OG following the MGMAT schedule at the end of their chapters, so you LEARN, followed by a CHECK/TEST of that learning.
Those books have pretty spartan selection of questions and assume you would be using OG for most of practice.

It does not look like MGMAT has made that very clear in their latest edition. If you go and register your books, on MGMAT.com you will get a study schedule/question list for your OG practice based on topic.

Ok so what now? Should I do the exercises that they recommend at the end of every book? Did I screw the study of the last two weeks? Ugh...

Hi snfuenza,

Since your last CAT was over 3 weeks ago, have you taken any additional FULL-LENGTH CATs since then? It's important to take CATs at regular intervals so that you can catch (and fix) little mistakes as you continue your studies (instead of trying to fix lots of little mistakes as you get closer to Test Day).

Hey Rich.

No, I haven't take any other CAT. After I did my first CAT, I used 1 week to study my errors. Then I used the next two weeks to study the 5 guides of MGMAT. Before doing another CAT I think it would be better to do exercises in order to review what I have learned.

I will second what bb said, first lay a strong foundation of concepts. If you used Manhattan GMAT books, make sure you do the corresponding set of practice problems from the official guides. Ideally this should have been done as you progressed along their books.

Unless you have the foundations in the place, there is really not that much one can benefit from doing quizzes and practice tests. If you happen to be a pretty strong student, then yes I can see that jumping directly in to practice mode can work.

cheers,
Dabral
Hey Dabral.

I don't really understood what you have said. I already covered the foundations of the MGMAT Quant guides. Are you saying there is no benefit from doing quizzes and exercises now? Why?

I meant to say that it would have been best to do the official guide problems as you went through the manhattan guides. This way you learn the concept and then reinforce it with practice problems.

You can do the practice set of problems from official guides based on their topic segmentation, it used to be listed in the guides but not sure what the current status is. And if you struggle with any of the practice problems, you can go back and review those concepts from the guide or any other source.

Dabral
Perfect.

Thanks to everyone that helped me out!
