Yes, breezing through the IR section in under 5 mins is OK. Your score will be appropriate however, it won't impact your Q, V, or Overall GMAT Score ;-)

Hello all,

As there are many posts regarding skipping AW & IR sections, I wanted to ask how do we define skipping specifically? Lets say that I want to skip the IR section, Since we cannot just skip the IR section in the test, How would you define skipping?

Skipping = "Just quickly guessing all the IR question in lets say under 5 mins" and getting to the break or actually spending 30 mins on the IR but not paying attention, just selecting randomly?

The purpose of this question is to confirm if the overall scheduled time for the test (around 4h) is counted towards the total score.

Would appreciate a quick response.

Thanks

Yes, you can skip the AWA and the IR section. But note that these two scores also go to the schools. And id not IR, schools do take a note of the AWA section.
So you would not want to have a disastrous score in these sections. Which might be the case if you just breeze through the questions in 5 minutes.
