Hi there...I am in some MBA programs that I'll be happy at, but I'm worried that my GMAT will interfere with recruiting. I have mid-high 600's, and want to go into investment banking.
My question is this: is it worth brushing up on my AWA/IR? For people that retake for better scores for recruitment, can I even....skip the AWA/IR sections on the actual exam? thoughts on this?
You can't skip anything. I guess it wouldn't hurt if you half ass the essay, but I'd imagine you dont want to show them a 1 on your IR. What was your first score? 650 or 690? Also, it depends where you're going to school. If you're at columbia/stern/cornell and trying to recruit for IB with a 650 and the rest of your peers have a 750, you will probably have issues getting an interview.
I would focus on the quant portion of the exam if you retake. We also can't really help you if you don't give more details.
