I'm liking for people who got around these percentages while studying for the GMAT using the OG software. What scores did you guys typically get? I'm going to start teaching in foreign country in a week so would like to take the GMAT before that instead of studying while I'm over there. Any help would be appreciated and while I know nobody can give an exact score just an estimate from people who got percentages like mine would be great. Thanks!

Before I dive deep into the question, any reason you cannot take a Free GMAT Prep Test and get a score? If you have used it up, there are 2 additional Exam Packs now available that will provide a fairly accurate evaluation of your capabilities.

P.S. When you give those percentages, do you mean it is exactly the same performance on PS, DS, CR, RC, and SC - exactly to those numbers?

Yeah they all end up around there except Reading Comprehension.

I would use the GMAT free CAT test but don't I have to register and pay the 250 first? I'm a little cautious about setting up an exact date without knowing where I stand because I might just take the GMAT while I'm off teaching.

Is there a free one online that you would recommend?

GMATPrep is free software - https://www.mba.com/us/store/download-fr ... tware.aspx
Provided for free by the GMAC. You do have to create an mba.com account to download it but that is free as well. So, no, you don't have to pay anything until you schedule an actual test.

Hi JayMekk,

As bb's already mentioned, you should take one of the free practice CATs available from GMAT. There's really no better way to assess your skills, strengths and weaknesses than by taking a FULL CAT (with the Essay and IR sections) under realistic conditions. While doing questions out of a book can help you to train and hone your skills, that process doesn't really compare to taking the full adaptive GMAT in one sitting. Once you have your scores, you should report back here.

1) What is your goal score?
2) When are you planning to take the GMAT?
3) When are you planning to apply to Business School?
