Concerning the prep test, to be honest, the errors I made were mostly not silly but in Quant I was just lacking the knowledge and in Verbal the time to solve the questions properly. Apart from that, I got 8 days left, even with a really thorough analysis of my errors it would not take me all the time to review them, considering I have at least about 10 hours of day to study  But what do you think is easier to tackle: getting better in Maths or seeing the SC errors quicker?

In the quant part my timing was OK and I could have used maybe 3 mins more but in the verbal part the time killed me both times and I had to skip 5-6 questions or so.
If I were you, I'd spend more time on quant. Getting better at SC might not help you too much if you're not improving in CR and RC as well. Also, be careful not to tire yourself out just before the exam (80 hours of study sounds great, but 80 hours over 8 days is different from 80 hours over a month :)).

Have you decided on your timing strategy? If you haven't, you should. Leaving 5-6 questions at the end is not going to be good for your score.

Hi Peter,

With these Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores, you have a great opportunity to pick up BIG points in BOTH the Quant and Verbal sections, so you can spend your time focused on either or (or split time between both).

From what you've described about your available study time, it sounds like you're planning to 'cram' during these last 7 days. That is almost always a BAD idea right before the GMAT. You can certainly get in some significant study time, but you don't want to run the risk of 'burn out' right before Test Day. There is NO situation in which I would recommend that a Test Taker study for 10 hours in one day.

GMAT assassins aren't born, they're made,

All right, in case somebody is interested a short debrief about my quite strange GMAT expericence. I studied Quant for most of the remaining time, solved everything in the OG and felt quite well prepared for that part. Thursday and Friday I just did a couple of verbal exercises of all three question types to not get in the exam completely cold and reviewed the Quant questions I still had had problems with again. Then I took the second GMAT Prep exam on Saturday morning scoring a 700 (Q47 V40) and was on the one hand pretty glad to have bettered my score that much in one week but on the other hand knew that I was quite lucky in Verbal and just guessed some of the questions right. So all in all I thought my Quant score of 47 should probably be quite authentic and my Verbal score should be somewhere in the middle of 30 (GMAT Prep one week before) and the 40 I scored. Today I took the exam and both parts felt OK, I was able to finish Quant without rushing too much and had to guess 3 Verbal questions in the end. The result was (to my big surprise) a Q41 V38 640 score, so I must have failed completely in Quant for some reason. All in all I'm satisfied with the result because, like I said earlier, I don't need more than the 640 but it annoys me that my Quant score is so bad and there was so much more potential. Actually it took some of my trust in the validity of the GMAT scores because I am completely sure I am much better in Quant than one week ago where I scored the 42 and was pretty convinced the 47 in the second GMAT Prep Test prooved that.

Anyways, thank you guys for your help and thank you to the whole forum, which answered many of the questions I had! Keep doing that amazing job guys!

Bye bye ;)
