Hello there,
One month ago, I did my first GMAT and scored at 710 Q48V40, what definitely matched my expectations. I though that a 700+ is a score basically sufficient (not a golden ticket of course) for every post-graduate, pre-experience program. My current favourite program is the MFE at Oxford Saïd Business School and as I've recently discovered "The minimum GMAT score we seek is 90th percentile marks in the quantitative section, 80th percentile marks in the verbal and 5.0 in the analytical writing."
My preparation for my 710 was short but intense: I took one month and practised >8 hours a day, what was probably not the best approach. I'll take my next GMAT at the end of my summer internship at Google, so I'll have three months but only the evenings and weekends to practise. Now I'm looking for a good approach to tackle the minimum entry requirements.
My biggest problem with the quant part was not that I do not get the approaches but that I often miss small details in the 700+ questions or get stuck with some really really trivial questions because I suspect a very hard question all the time.
I'm aware of the tons of great debriefs and guides but maybe there is someone in this forum who has been in a similar situation.
Thank you!
