Hi Highline,
Thank you for your comments, and I certainly open this topic up for discussion, and would love to hear from more people.

The reason my opinion is that the non-U.S. schools I mentioned prefer the GRE, is simply because of my experience with their admissions officers -- students applying to Oxford or Cambridge, for example, are more likely to also be applying for a joint degree in the graduate school (an Master in Finance, for example) or a joint degree alongside the MBA that is more academic in nature.

Straight MBA programs that especially cater to those in the finance industries, prefer the GMAT.

In terms of your other question... use the chart within my article that shows you how to convert GRE scores to their GMAT equivalent.

Also want to add, that to get in to a "Top Ten" business school, your GMAT really needs to hit 680, and break 700 to be truly competitive. I have seen people get into a Top Ten with lower scores, so it does happen, but this is just a good guideline to shoot for!

There's also a great chart that shows GRE to GMAT conversions.
Did you use ETS data to make this chart? The ETS added score ranges (quite some time back) to help address reliability problems with their data.

Saying that these MBA programs prefer the GRE is a long shot from the facts you stated, isn't it?

In terms of your other question... use the chart within my article that shows you how to convert GRE scores to their GMAT equivalent.

I think you misinterpreted my question. I asked how GRE scores factor into an MBA program's published GMAT score range. Let's take an extreme, completely made up example. If the GMAT scores submitted by 50% of students enrolled have a range of 700-750, and the GRE scores submitted by the other 50% are all 340, will the MBA program publish 700-750 as their GMAT score range or would they rather publish 700-800?

You also ignored my question on why you said "best" instead of "better" if there are only two tests.
