Hi scorpio81193,

From what you've described, you have had enough exposure to GMAT material over the last couple of years that taking a CAT should not be a 'big deal.' As such, you really MUST take a FULL-LENGTH CAT (including the Essay and IR sections) sometime soon (perhaps this weekend). That initial diagnostic CAT is important - it helps to define your strengths and weaknesses and gives you a basis for comparison as you continue to study. Most Test Takers are not happy with that first CAT result, so that should not be an issue - the extra months of available study time are there so that you can IMPROVE on this initial practice result.

1) When will you complete your class?

I did take the cat i got a bad score less than 500. I need to work on everything. But as i said i know the formulas i get confused when the sum is tricky i get scared and refer to the solution. Also as you know the not all sums are the same nor are there any particular type of sums thats where i lose my marks. In case of english i did well in school etc and i know my english is good but u dont understand the proverds adverds adjective etc i usually go on the sound of the sentence.i dont know how to practice for awa and ir.
My classes end after 4 weekends (my classes are only on weekends for 4 hours rest of the week im studying completing the homework)

Hi scorpio81193,

Since you have a specific score goal, it would really help to assess your situation if you would provide some specific information about this CAT.

1) When did you take this CAT?
2) What 'brand' of CAT did you take?
3) Did you take the FULL CAT (with the Essay and IR sections)?
4) What were the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores?
5) Did you have to 'rush' to finish any of the sections (and if so, then how many questions did you rush through?)?

Hi scorpio81193,

From what you've described, you took that CAT about 3 MONTHS ago (and you didn't even take the Full CAT), so that score isn't really relevant to your current studies. As such, I still highly recommend that you take a new, FULL-LENGTH CAT (with the Essay and IR sections) sometime soon. Does your GMAT Class have a schedule for you to take CATs?

Hi scorpio81193,

Most Test Takers are not 'happy' with that first CAT result, but that's not a big deal - it's the initial CAT (you're not expected to be an amazing Test Taker yet) - and the extra months of available study time are there so that you can IMPROVE on this initial practice result.

'Perfection' on the GMAT is neither a realistic goal, nor a required one. Right now we have NO IDEA what your actual ability level is, and that's a big problem. Once you take that CAT (whenever you take that CAT), you should report back here with your results and we can talk through how best to proceed with your studies.
