I just recently took the GMAT and scored a 690 (44 Quant, 40 Verbal) and am hoping to get a 710/720. I have taken a prep course and private tutoring and have focused the majority of my time on trying to improve my math. I tend to approach the problems well, but I have an issue with timing, my arithmetic isn't exactly the strongest, and I often tend to take the long route to solving (my algebra is very strong). As far as verbal goes, I have focused very little time on it, if any. I am writing in hopes of finding someone out there who can help me design a study plan. I struggle with identifying the best way to improve on the problems I get incorrect in particular. Any help/advice is greatly appreciated. I am hoping to take my next exam in 2/3 weeks. Thanks so much in advance!

Hi crb1017 - we specialize in a 1 month study plan. With math, we often show multiple variations of the same core question and show how to answer that math question as the different variables change. With certain questions, we also show multiple ways of solving the question. Even if there is a "long" route to solving a question - it shouldn't be so long that it affects your ability to do other questions.

We recommend that you get a little more familiar with what you will be tested -- as knowing what to expect can also speed up your time: https://www.gmatpill.com/gmat-practice-t ... questions/

Hi,

Since you have 2-3 weeks till the exam, it seems like it would be difficult for you to improve quant in a short period of time with the conventional method as it is time-consuming to solve question. However, with our unique approaches of Variable approach for DS and IVY approach for PS, you can significantly save time, and will have 10 minutes to spare on exam. For instance, with our approaches, you can solve questions that normally take 4 minutes in 1 minutes and 30 seconds, and 2-minute question in 30 seconds.
You can solve DS questions 100% with Variable approach and 30-40% of PS questions with IVY approach.

As your current score is 44, your basic math skills are good. Based on your current skills, we think it would be better for you to aim at hitting 49 studying only Variable approach of DS. Plus, the reason we recommend studying and mastering DS is that DS is a quick win and focusing on the key questions, 5 chapters (Integer, statistics, probability, inequality, absolute value), which completes 80% of your study for GMAT.
