Hey all,
I had a quick question regarding timing. Does the algorithm consider anything besides whether the question was answered correctly or incorrectly? I.e. if you take longer on a question is that worse than finishing sooner?
The reason I ask is that I had somewhat of an unusual experience today when taking a practice test. I am getting ready to take the GMAT in one week. I took the GMATPrep test 4. Similar conditions, same time, environment, completed all sections and took correct breaks. Anyways, I get stumped on the very first quant question and end up missing it. I really feel like this threw me off for the rest of the section. I ended up finishing the quant with 18 minutes to spare. This is very unusual for me as I am normally finishing with about 5 minutes left. So, my question is will it hurt my score at all if I were to let the time run down on the last question? Essentially just to get a longer break. I was leaning towards no effect, but submitted it because I was unsure.
Not sure if this matters at all, but my scores were composite 760, Q50(Missed 2)/V44(Missed 2).
Best,
lin
