My test is just one day away. At this point, I'm just going over questions in the Official Guide (I started doing this yesterday) and will probably take the second GMATPrep CAT tonight. Here's my score breakdown thus far, in order of tests taken:
Kaplan CAT1: 620
PR CAT1: 710
Kaplan CAT2: 640
Powerprep 1: 740
GMATPrep 1: 770
Powerprep 2: 780 (Q49, V51)
Kaplan CAT3: 640 (Q50, V36)
I took the last 4 CAT practice tests this past week, with the second Powerprep test just two days ago, before I started going over the OG. Aside from the last Kaplan test, I've been scoring at about the same level in quantitative and verbal.
Here's my question: When you get up to scores like the 770 and 780 that I've gotten in Powerprep and GMATPrep, do those tests lose some of their predictive power? From what other posters have written, I've gotten the impression that the practice tests might not have enough questions in the more difficult bins to accurately reflect the experience of the real test.
Due to pretty average grades in undergrad and my desire to get into one of the top schools, I feel that scoring a 750 or higher could be a huge boost to my admission chances.
