Hi Everyone,
I'm an orthopedic surgeon with 10 years clinical experience. i was thinking of doing 1 year executive MBA prog. to enhance my chances of coming to admin side of hospital. i was planning to take GMAT in July with aim to apply for Summer 2018 courses. My aim is to get into ISB like B schools.
Friends i want your valuable guidance regarding how to plan preparation for GMAT. i am completely out of touch of mathematics since my +2 (18 years earlier) , so have forgotten even basics of quants.
i am working in a place where i only have option of online material , no coaching classes available here. i can devote 2 hours a day for study during week days & 6 hours during weekend (1 day /week).
Can anyone guide me how to plan study, how can i learn basics of mathematics, which are good online courses , what books/guides to refer.
i regret being naive , but this is totally new territory for me. any guidance will be very helpful for me

Hi Parag!
I think 2 hours per day is good. There are a few ways to master math. If you don't know the basics (decimals, fractions, addition and so on) you can buy Manhatten Guide to Math. Here you can find all basics of math. For more paractice you can use E-GMAT online quant course. It has all that you need for GMAT. And what about Verbal? Do you need materials?

The ability to properly do basic math is a must for the Quant section (and it also helps in the IR section). Given your concerns about your current math skills, there are some things that you can do BEFORE you start formally studying for the GMAT.
For free math practice and help, I recommend that you set up an account at Khan Academy (www.khanacademy.org). The site is completely free and makes the learning a bit more fun and 'game-like' (as opposed to the dry academic approach taken by most books). While the site is vast, you should limit your studies to basic Arithmetic, Algebra and Geometry. After spending a little time re-building those skills, you can start your GMAT studies.
