Can Christmas/New Year holidays delay GMAT score report submission?

Hi GC members,

I wish to apply in 2017-18 R2 of B-Schools and all of my shortlisted schools have a deadline in early January.
I have a score of 720 but I wish to retake and improve the score. I have my exam appointment on 21st December.

My concerns are:

1. Will I get the official score report by December end? Last time I received score in a week but I am concerned about the Christmas holidays around then. 
2. Do schools accept an updated GMAT score withing 1 week of passing of application deadlines?

Any help here would be much appreciated.

Here are the answers to your queries:

1. Will I get the official score report by December end? --> YES. You will have sufficient time to receive the final score and send it to the schools.

2. Do schools accept an updated GMAT score withing 1 week of passing of application deadlines? --> NO, it doesn't really matter. Even if you take your exam 2 days before the deadline, schools are fine with it. Schools just check the validity of the scores.

Hi klrahul, I took my online exam December 27th (4 days ago) and have not yet received a score. Is there an update on your case that you can speak to? Did you end up having any delays?

Hi MAgmat1,

The original post that you are referring to was from over 3 years ago, before the At-home GMAT even existed. Many people who take the At-home Exam receive their Official Scores in 2-3 days, but a certain number have to wait up to a week (and if there were any abnormalities in terms of how YOUR Exam was administered, then it might take even longer than that). For practical purposes, you should not be too concerned until it has been at least a week after your Test Date; at that point, you might consider reaching out to Customer Service to investigate.
