Hi everyone,
I am terrible at math and have really bad ADHD. Full stop. I am trying to figure out which exam to prepare for. I'm a military veteran with Tufts University (good undergrad) and Creighton Law School (pretty good law school), have ADHD crazy that's untreated (so succeeded during seven years of academic rigor, three of which were at the graduate level) and want to change the business of politics with my own company (long term goal, with short term to break into VC because this line of work, including growing start-ups, makes me happy and I seem to have a gift here). Also come from super rough upbringing. I know top programs have heard it all before, but that does not negate the fact that I am still that case.
I'm trying to figure out my best course of action with this pitch to MBA programs. However, no good program (top 25) will waive the GMAT/GRE requirement for me despite this pitch because they're uncomfortable given my lack of quant (fair). So I need to suck it up and take something. Specifically, I have questions re GMAT v GRE. Can people speak to both and then the best prep material they found useful? I am assuming both have testing accomodations for my disability. The sad thing is that I will have to go on medication, which I hate, but such is life I guess.
Here's the thing, I know I will probably not do well on either. Threse schools are worried that I cannot get through the rigors of their program so showing a decent GMAT score might be better. However, I would probably do better on the GRE plus seems like I can take the GRE more often thatn the GMAT? Lastly, my math is just not strong but I can learn it with hard work. I majored in poli sci and then law school so not calculus, statistics, etc. Nothing.
Thanks everyone in advance!
