Thanks abhimahna

If I can just have your thoughts on 2 other points, it'd be really awesome:
1) I'm just curious if the GMATPrep Question Bank doesn't over lap as well?

2) I read your write-ups and I feel like I'm in a situation as compared to your situation in the past. (I got Q50 on 3 GmatPreps now, but my verbal is what is waiving around...). Ultimately the scores I've had:

GMATPrep: 730,720,690 (In that order, although the 690 had a disruption in the library so I had to pause it)

My MGMAT and Veritas tests (I did about 3 of each) are at around 660.

I'm just curious if you tried either MGMAT/Veritas and how you felt about them in relation to GMATPrep or Actual (specifically in terms of the Verbal section)?

Hey grumpygrandpa ,

Here are my answers:

1. If you are giving GMATPreps for the first time or have not reset them before, you won't see any overlaps. But the moment, you will attempt and reset the question bank, you will find repeats for sure. Hence, the score may not be the real indicator of your performance.

2. I have been a big fan of MGMAT since the beginning considering the level of difficulty they offer and which is actually inline with the actual exam. I feel that GMATPreps are slightly on the easier side compared to the actual exam. I would prefer hitting your goal score in MGMATs before hitting the actual exam. Again, this is my personal experience and people may disagree.

All the best :)

My GMAT preps were fresh. They have my Quants at Q50, 3x in a row, but Veritas and MGMAT has my quants at somewhere between 44-48. The Verbal scores all range from 32-38 across all tests, but the Quant scores have a big discrepancy (GMATPrep being consistently reliable in producing 50, whereas other tests waiver from 44-48 - usually on the higher side for veritas and lower-side for MGMAT).

I wanted to hear your thoughts on this (although I do know it's just a plotted point on the graph, so-to-speak):
*For Quants: It seems GMATPrep is similar to Actual (perhaps a tad bit easier?), whereas MGMAT is far more difficult (but great to practice with)
*For Verbal: It seems like MGMAT verbal seems similar to Actual, whereas GMATPrep is slightly easier..

Certainly the elephant in the room for me is the Quants discrepancy, which I can live with. In any case, I need to improve my Verbal to really see the results.

On one hand, I'd like to practice OG questions. On the other hand, I'd prefer not to run into any questions that might overlap with GMATPrep.

I'm wondering if anyone here knows if OG questions overlap with GMATPrep questions. If so, which OG Guides overlap with which GMATPreps and to what extent?

Appreciate the help!

Hi
The OG questions do not overlap with the Gmatprep questions. You can practice from the OG and take the practice tests subsequently.

Hey grumpygrandpa ,

I completely agree to your point. Yes, Manhattan Quant is a bit on a tougher side but they do make you reach Q50-51 very easily if you try to hit the same score in these. It is like they are preparing you for the harder side of the exam/

For Verbal, I completely agree.

So, if you are getting a score of say 45 on MGMAT, you can expect a score of around 46-48 in the actual exam, if everything goes fine.

All the best :)
