Percentiles break down to 96% overall, with 99% on verbal but only 52% on quant.
My profile is MBB consultant, high GPA at top public university. Applying to top schools (e.g., HBS, GSB)
My average practice test score (GMAC) was 730-740 (47Q, 44V). On actual, I scored lower on quant and higher on verbal.
Would love advice on:
1) Should I retake, given imbalanced score and low quant percentile?
2) What advice would you have to prep for retake?
Thank you!!
Hi,
Many people will think different approach for retaking the test.
Retake GMAT-
1. Focus on Quant more. Try gmatclub quant test.
2. Try to master all the OG Quant question.
3. Maintain an
error log to track your mistake.
You might need max 3-4 weeks to get to Q49 range. But at the same time practice verbal as well if you need to. You still have lot of time to retake. But make sure you are done with your GMAT by June.
Proceeding with current score-
1. You already have a high GPA.
2. You have consulting background. If your recommender can explain that you have good analytical skills in solving the problems as your strength, then it should be fine. And lower percentile on Quant shouldn't be an issue at all.
All the best to whichever decision you are going to make.
