Hello all,
I am a recent graduate planning on taking the Gmat before I begin work in early august. I have read a lot over the past 2 to 3 days about what resources I would like to use to prepare myself for the GMAT, but I find myself in a potentially unique predicament.
I will have a month to study for the test before I embark on a typical post graduation trip to a few countries outside of my homeland, and then will have a month after I return from this trip before I start work.
I see myself as having four options which are as follow:
1 - Study for the test intensely full time over the next month and take it before I embark on my trip.
2 - Take the same approach but applied to the month after I’ve returned from my trip
3 - Prepare as though I’ll be taking the test before my trip. In this case I would be prepared to push back my test to early August with the hope that once I return, I am quickly able to review the concepts I learned and studied intensely pre-trip.
4 - Deliberately plan a study strategy that has two halves for before and after my trip. Maybe extensive content review and slight exposure to CATs before I leave and then a large swath of practice tests and practice questions when I return?
I believe I’ll be shooting for a score of over 700 and I’m fairly confident that with the right amount of training I can achieve such a goal as I’ve performed well on standardized tests over my lifetime and I have generally been a strong academic performer.
If anyone has been through a similar experience or has any feedback on what might work best, please do let me know. I would greatly appreciate any guidance
