Hi All,
I am aiming to complete my GMAT prep in roughly three weeks and I am looking for advice.
Having just finished my undergraduate degree, I have landed a job in consulting that could potentially lead to a sponsored MBA (in 2021) so I am being proactive and doing my GMAT now. However, they will only sponsor top 10 business schools so will need 730+ as my undergrad degree is not great. Although 3 weeks is not an ideal amount of time to prepare my options are limited. I know I will struggle to revise for GMAT whilst working consulting hours so sitting it over summer seems like a good option.
I did a Kaplan diagnostic test without any prep or looking over any material and scored:
Overall 650.
Q45
V34: CR (11/14), RC (7/14),
SC (5/12)I have selected to do the test in 3 weeks to leave room for another attempt in 5 weeks but after this I will then be working full time and unable to focus on GMAT.
In terms of prepping I have decided to focus solely on verbal first as I am confident I will be able to polish my quant score in far less time.
The sticking point for me seems to be sentence correction - I have spent a few days focusing solely on this topic and cannot seem to significantly improve my hit rate. I have watched the veritas SC videos, ordered the manhattan SC strategy book and review incorrect answers on this website before moving on.
Any advice would be appreciated on how my time is best spent and if anything stands out as immediately wrong.
Thank you all in advance
