Hi all,
I took the GMAT about 2 months back and got a 640 (Q36,V41). To make a long story short, I have been studying nearly
full time for the last 2 weeks and recently took a
GMAT Club Quant CAT with a score of Q41, about 80% accuracy on 500 level questions, 60% on 600 level questions, and 25% on 700 level questions. This was also my first CAT in a while, so I think I can increase these accuracy numbers slightly. Before the CAT, I was getting in the ballpark of 70-80% average accuracy with 500 and 600 level questions on GMAT Club full-length quizzes.
I have about 2 weeks until taking the GMAT, and I start full time work not too long after.
Although I have some questions in terms of how this CAT was scored (e.g. I was given a 500 level question after getting a 700 level question right on one occasion), I am really targeting a 46+ Quant score, anywhere between a 5 and a 6 point increase. I am studying for Quant virtually full time, and only plan on studying verbal while making error logs for full length CATs.
How should I best target this? I have a couple of assumptions:
- Getting the first couple of questions right seems to be very important, so should I emphasize accuracy on 500 and 600 level questions?
- Should I do a bunch of 700 level questions to make the easier questions more comfortable?
- Should I take more CATs and full-length quizzes, or review concepts? There does not seem to be one glaring weak spot, although a couple of concepts that I have gotten wrong more on average than others.
Really would appreciate any insight from anyone who made a significant Quant score improvement, or any experts with thoughts. Thanks!
