Hello Experts ,

I have a 5th edition MGMAT book ( got it free from a friend) , which still has the exam code unscratched.
Wondering if the same will work to unlock the exams..... or do I need to buy the exams separately. ( Recently, heard in the forum that the exams are not free with the books anymore...... but.... is that same for the old version of books ? )

When I bought the complete Manhattan set, I just needed to scratch the code in one of the books to get all the tests. May be your friend has done the same thing by using the code from one of the other books.

Nevertheless, you can give it a try.

The change that has happened several years ago is that you have to purchase a full bundle to qualify for the free tests.

The old system allowed you to purchase one book and have access to six tests plus book related exercises.

Now each book provides access only to the book related exercises. I believe each book unlocks one test, at least that’s how it was a few years ago when I activated them one by one.

I purchased a new 6th Edition Manhattan SC couple of months ago, it says Copyright 2014 on the inside. I guess this was printed out in 2014, hence it has the free 6 tests, SC question bank & video lessons.

The book also clearly says that the code is non transferable & only new & unregistered copies will be granted online access.

I also have an older 5th edition, i think this one is from pre 2010. This one says it provides access to 3 online tests & question bank. However the code provided in this does not work, not sure whether my friend who gave this book used the code before.

You can give your older version a try or if you are in India, it will be easy to find a new book which has all 6 exams, since most retailers here usually have older stock. I purchased mine from Bahrisons in New Delhi.

Yes it was an access code on the back of the book. It works & i have access to the 6 tests plus the question bank. However mine is an older print (2014) of the 6th edition.

I am not sure whether the new edition or the newer prints of 6th edition, provides access to all 6 tests. The one on amazon here https://www.amazon.in/Sentence-Correction-Manhattan-Strategy-Guides-ebook/dp/B017X1K89Q?tag=googinhydr18418-21 says "Includes access to online resources", where as the one that i bought from a retail shop says "Includes 6 free practice exams".

I suggest to check out a book store near you, you might find an old print of the 6th edition that includes all 6 exams.

Thanks for reply and link GyM!! the one on amazon does not have all 6 tests (just one) anymore coz it's a new version, I read all the reviews before 2017 people were getting older versions and had gotten all the tests. So, now I'm gonna have to find a bookseller who has an older version like you did. There are quite a few good options here in Gurgaon and if I manage to get my hands on one I'll give out the seller info in case some else needs it too. Thanks again!!
