Did questions of algebra from ogs and some questions i was solving by options but in explanation they solved it by traditional methods is it ok to solve questions using options?

The nice thing about the GMAT is that GMAC doesn't care about how you're solving the question - just that you're getting the right answer. Unless you have a hard time solving algebraic equations when you really need to be able to solve them, I wouldn't worry about it. Do what works and is the fastest, most accurate option for you.

manjot123 I'll go a bit further - it is not only acceptable, it is probably preferable. here's why: not only does the GMAT not care how you solve questions, but only that you get them right - but it is actually testing you on how fast you get to this answer - and often, the fast way won't be traditional method.
In a nutshell, there are three kinds of answer strategies to choose from:
Precise
using the information in the question to arrive at an exact answer using “high school” abilities. These could be - simplifying an equation or applying a grammatical rule.Alternative
using tools that will get us quickly to the answer, even if we can’t tell how to get there precisely. These could be things such as using the answers, estimating the result, relying on geometric symmetry, and many more.Logical
implementing a logical rule ‘from outside’ which sheds the question in new light and gets us to the answer quickly.The last two methods are usually faster than the Precise, and the trick is figuring out when to implement them.
