Hi Guys,

Today I took GMAT and scored (Quants - 50 & Verbal-28). I prepared for almost 3 months before the exam. In my practice, i have scored on an average 35-37 in Verbal. Quite disappointed with my verbal marks. I wish to give my next GMAT in a month. I feel, i really need to improve my SC skills as I face lot of difficulty in identifying the errors. Could you please guide me how to improve my verbal score as much as possible? Will it be helpful to hire a private tutor for enhancing my verbal skills? If yes, please suggest the names.

Thank You.

Hi SJaggi,

For verbal, I would highly encourage you to consider e-gmat verbal online or the e-gmat verbal live course. They are both amazing courses especially designed for non-natives. They offer almost 25% of their courses for free so you can try out their free trial to decide which one you want to go for. Plus the e-gmat Scholaranium which is included in both the courses is one of the best verbal practice tools in the market. You can easily track your progress in that you can identify your strengths and analyze and improve on your weak areas.

Further taking multiple mocks might help. Apart from the GMATPREP, Manhattan GMAT tests and Veritas Prep Tests in my experience have good verbal and Quant section and will certainly help you point out and improve your weak areas.

Further another advantage of taking many mocks is to build up your stamina. Apart from the GMATPREP tests, taking practise tests of any major GMATPREP company ought to do that.

I would also encourage you to purchase the GMATPREP QP 1 for some great additional practice. Here is a link that will help you with your decision.

Hope this helps. All the best.

Hello SJaggi. I'm also in the preparation phase and I have enrolled for E-gmat. If you haven't taken GMAT again and you still have time, I will suggest you go with their verbal course.
Else, go for Powerscore CR for Critical reasoning. I was able to finish the book in 5 days and it's very lucid. It doesn't contain many questions but your concepts will be clear.
For RC, go for Aristotle RC and for SC Manhattan is good. If possible buy MGMAT tests and Veritas mocks for practice.
