Hi,
I completed the basic Kaplan prep that comes with the book and a few online CATs. I studied by doing the problem sets in the book as well as quizzes and practice exams. I was consistently scoring in the mid to high 600s, normally scoring 43-47 on quant and 35-42 on verbal. I studied for about 2 months and recently took the actual GMAT for the first time. I scored a 640 but I I ran out of time and had to guess on 5 questions in each section. I know I could use a few points in quant but I need the most help in verbal. I also struggle with time. I don't think I need any tutoring I just need a little more practice and maybe better ways to analyze the questions. I think I have the online courses narrowed down to the Veritas online Prep and the E-Gmat prep. Does anybody have any thoughts on these or better recommendations. I would like to not spend over $700.

you are talking about the scores in the GMATPrep tests. The scores you get in these
tests are the closest to what you are going to get on the real exam. So, if you were
to ask me, the first step would be to take a GMATPrep test(if you haven't taken one)
There are a lot of online courses available on the market and each of them cater to a
specific audience. In order to understand which course is perfect for you, you might
want to have a look at the review section here at GMATClub and do a free trial. This
will help you understand which course will suit your requirements. If you were to ask
me, as a non-native, the SC on eGMAT is extremely good. For CR, you can read the
PowerScore CR Bible and practice is key where it comes to RC.

To start, a 640 is a solid performance, so it could be enough to get you into your first-choice School. As such, a retest might not be necessary. There's certainly no harm in retesting though - and you're actually closer to a 700+ score than you probably realize. Before I can offer you the specific advice that you’re looking for, it would help if you could provide a bit more information on how you've been studying and your goals:
Studies:
1) How have you scored on EACH of your CATs (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores for EACH)?
2) What were the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores for your Official 640 score?
Goals:
3) When are you planning to apply to Business School?
4) What Schools are you planning to apply to?
