Hi All,
I started preparing for GMAT exactly a week ago. To begin with I have got the Kaplan and Princeton books. I am a software professional, so this week all i tried was to spend atleast an hour each day studying.
My problem is, i thought i could pick up a topic and cover the topic in both books, so first i picked up CR and went thru topic, but midway i got so impatient, i started Quant, thats not all , i broke that midway and jumped to AWA. Meanwhile i also search a lot , read a lot from this forum and try to download stuff and much time is spent here too.
I understand i am impatient. Probably bcos i have been so much out of touch studying....but i would like to how do i channelise myself....
How did you people go abt mastering the concepts? Did you guys do one at a time?
How many weeks does it take for an average reader to master the concepts and get ready to take the tests?
Please help me with your suggestions. I am really disheartened

Dude take it easy.
Preparing for GMAT is like preaparing for a Marathon. You don't run the week before the race and hope to achieve a great timing..
My advice would be to start with OG and solve each problem/SC/CR/RC... and learn the concepts behiend each question. I never studied from Kaplan/Princeton.. so can't say how good they are.
Manhattan Gmat SC book is great for basics. Buy it if you can.
Participate in the forums. Guys and gals here are really smart and very helpful. So learn from them.
Again go slow 'coz even if you car can reach 160mph, the speed limit is only 65mph. There must be a reason for that.
