Hi guys,
I had a 3.9 gpa my freshman year of college. All was well. But then I developed paranoid schizophrenia, which bombed my gpa down to 3.14 over 4 years. That is my final gpa, I studied applied math, emphasis economics. By what is literally almost a medical miracle, I rebounded on the right medication and am now almost recovered. I scored 670 on my MBA.com CAT, cold. I can't take another test yet for one reason or another, which I will soon, but I was wondering if I scored 740+ if I still have a decent chance at a top level school? My gpa is low, but I would have a doctor's note and really there wasn't much I could do. Will the top schools reason with me, or will they just pass me over due to gpa?

Two things,
Additional Essay to address the medical condition will be sufficient and send them a copy in the mail to be sure
Secondly, If you get a good GMAT, you are probably out of the danger zone. Good as in a 730+

At this point you have no control over your GPA, I would focus on your essay and optional essay to explain your low undergrad GPA and get as high as a GMAT as possible. Do you have good work experience? extracurricular activities? there is always a way to recover from a low score/GPA if the rest of the narrative is strong. Happy to look at your resume for feedback.
