Hello,

I've been studying for a month for GMAT and got a 590(Q48 V23) from the official prep test. My goal is 60%, which is slightly over 600 I believe.

I'm an engineer and I trust my quant ability, although I have very poor verbal as I'm a non-native.

Since not much time left for the exam, should I avoid 700+ questions in verbal and try to increase my accuracy in sub-600 and 600-700 level questions, or is it a silly idea?

I would appreciate any contribution, thanks!

Hi baris34,

you’ll need to get a range of scores from more mocks rather than a reference from one mock test.

For verbal, do not avoid 700+ for all the 3 types. I’m sure one of SC/CR/RC will be your strength area. Work on difficult questions on that type and may be let go of difficulty level on the other ones, considering your time constraint.

All the best

Thank you all for the replies.

I listed down all the question types from SC and CR and I decided to solve;

5 sub-600
10 Level 600-700 and,
5 Level 700+ questions from each of them until the exam day.

I don't know how good indicator is it but today I did Manhattan Prep Test and I scored 630(46W 31V).

Oh! 630 in Manhattan is a good sign for your target score. Keep up the momentum

Today I did the free Veritas Practice Exam.

However, I didn't find it very realistic as 3-4 questions were about "probability" in Quant.

All in all, again not being sure how indicative it is, I scored 620(Q48V28).

So today I took another Mock test after a long time as I completed OG2020 and reviewed all the questions. I did Kaplan Test, and I would like to know if we can talk about an improvement if these scores are compared. My weakness is Verbal, I have an exam scheduled for 4th May and I will solve Official Prep 2 next week.

Official Prep 1: 590(48Q 23V) March 11
Manhattan: 630(46Q 31V) March 16
Veritas 620(48Q 28V) March 21
Economist: 610(50Q 24V) March 31
Kaplan: 670(48Q 34V) April 20
