Hi,

The answer lies in your capability to study with complete focus even after intense working hours during summer internship. If you can cope that pressure then, you can go for plan 2. Perhaps, you can evaluate your capability by looking into past records. Remember that GMAT is not like academia in school or college time. So, overall you only can help yourself to opt for GMAT prep planning.

Because you likely will be pretty busy during your internship, my gut is saying that the 3 to 5-month timeline will likely be ideal. However, before making any firm decisions, I agree that it would be helpful to first see your baseline score. Thus, once you take your first practice exam, feel free to report back with your score breakdown, and I can provide some further advice. Also, you may find it helpful to read the following article:
