The above question basically. I got 6 wrong in my first attempt without any practice.

Depends what your target score is, what kind of RC it was and the kind of question it was. If it was a hard question you got wrong, score won't drop as much compared to getting a medium question wrong

The scoring algorithm on the Official GMAT is far more complicated than most people realize - and it takes into account far more than just the number of correct and incorrect answers. Thus, the question that you asked requires far more information than you have provided. Before I can offer you any additional advice for your studies, it would help if you could provide a bit more information on how you've been studying and your goals:
Studies:
1) How long have you studied? How many hours do you typically study each week?
2) What study materials have you used so far?
Goals:
3) What is your overall goal score?
4) When are you planning to take the GMAT?
5) When are you planning to apply to Business School and what Schools are you planning to apply to?
