Hey - In a lifetime you can give GMAT only 8 times. I wonder how he has taken GMAT 46 times

Regards,
Chandraneel

I do agree with you. But I'm asking if you take Gmat many times, would you really be able to crack the Gmat and guess the questions / answers ??

Best

You cannot guess the exact question that would appear on GMAT

But you can certainly get well versed and identify a trap answer (answers that force the test makers to make wrong choices)

I don't understand how it would work.... (perhaps we are not understanding the idea of what the tutor was claiming) but the test has new questions that are refreshed every 15 days. While I have not taken it 46 times, it seems unlikely one would know which question would be showing up next. Even if one could know it is Geometry as #8, and Word Problem as #9, and Arithmetic DS as #10, how would they know the content? or perhaps there is something crazy about the GMAT?

P.S. Did the tutor take the GMAT before there was the lifetime limit maybe? Trying to give them the benefit of the doubt here... the limit was introduced only in the past 5-6 years or so.... so possilbe if they were doing it for 10-15 years, they could have taken it that much...

I got this answer from him yesterday, just analyse it and tell me what do you think: " I guarantee the answers, don't worry, I'll not give you any real questions to practice, I'll give you answers only. I'll train you. I'll not sell you any real questions" . We got this conversation yesterday as he wanted me to pay more to guarantee the target score.

This sounds very different from anything I know or heard of. It also does not sound real or plausible.... I think you are right to ask questions. Perhaps the best option to solve it without a conflict is to speak with his past clients and figure out what it actually means? Perhaps he just says he will train you to handle all questions?

Hi vahankart,

Are you paying the tutor directly or did you purchase a tutoring package from this GMAT Company? I ask because that tutor appears to be behaving in an unprofessional manner - first, by insinuating that he/she can tell you the exact questions that you will see on Test Day (which would be an illegal service to sell you) and second, by trying to charge you more (since tutoring packages generally have a fixed price based on the number of hours purchased, and a reputable Company would not allow the tutor to negotiate in this way).

It you are happy with the tutoring service, then all of this might be moot, but you might consider reaching out to discuss these issues with the Company that you hired this tutor through.

Hi All
I'm planning to write the GMAT by January and targeting a score of 720.

I bought a private tutor from a leading GMAT company, my tutor took the gmat more than 46 times and he has a solid math and analytics foundation and he's pretending that he can guess which questions I gonna have and he can guarantee me the answers also. We started prep 3 weeks ago.

My question is : is it really that anyone who took the GMAT many times can guess the questions and responses ?? really appreciate your help.

Thanks

Hi vahankart,

GMAT is an adaptive test and there's no way you can guess the right answers. You might identify a certain pattern to eliminate incorrect answer choices but that comes under using the right methodology. I suggest you to switch to a tutor who can help you in the right way by teaching you the concepts and the methodologies instead of these tricks.
