Thanks Andrew for the feedback.

Are the Veritas mocks good enough standard especially for the Verbal. Will they closely represent something as mba.com mocks?

If yes i will go ahead and purchase the mocks. I had a technical timing glitch with Veritas mock when I took a free one 3 months back.

Please let me know

HI pakalaindraneel70,

If you repurchase those exams, you'll see repeated questions. Also, what else are you doing to study besides taking practice exams?

Hello again, Indraneel. Although I strongly urge people to stick with official material to prepare for the Verbal portion of the exam, if you are looking to take mock tests after having already exhausted the six official ones, then seeking out an alternative makes sense. Both Veritas Prep and Manhattan Prep exams are generally regarded as close enough to the real test, if not perhaps a little harder. You can check numerous debriefs from people who have achieved 700+ scores to assess whether the investment may be worth it on your part.

Hi Indraneel,

While the most realistic CATs available are the 6 from GMAC, retaking a CAT that you've already taken is NOT a realistic way to assess your skills - since you will likely see some 'repeat' questions that you have already faced. Unfortunately, seeing even a couple of repeats can 'throw off' the Scoring Algorithm and impact your pacing, energy levels, fatigue, etc. (meaning that they would likely all appear to be better than they actually are). Thankfully, the CATs from Kaplan, MGMAT and Veritas are all 'close enough' to the real thing that they will provide you with a relatively realistic score assessment (assuming that you correctly take the CAT in a realistic fashion) - so you can use any NEW CATs from any of those sources next.

In addition, it's worth noting that a CAT is really a 'measuring device' - when used correctly, it will give you a realistic score and help define your strengths and weaknesses, but it will NOT help you to fix any of those weaknesses. To raise your scores, you have to learn the necessary Tactics and put in the proper practice and repetitions. The CAT will show you whether your studies are helping you to improve or not.

Before I can offer you any additional advice for your studies, it would help if you could provide a bit more information on how you've been studying and your goals:

Studies:
1) How long have you studied? How many hours do you typically study each week?
2) What study materials have you used so far?
3) On what dates (or approximate dates) did you take EACH of your CATs/mocks and how did you score on EACH (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores for EACH)?

Goals:
4) What is your overall goal score?
5) When are you planning to take the GMAT?
6) When are you planning to apply to Business School and what Schools are you planning to apply to?

GMAT assassins aren't born, they're made,
Rich

Hi Indraneel,

I did not find veritas mocks to be very great. May be you can try Kaplan or 800 score mocks. I heard that they are good.

Hi AndrewN,

Thanks for the feedback.

I see there are many positive replies and reviews on Global experts mocks after the official mocks.

Can I go ahead and purchase those mocks as I already used Manhattan mocks where my Verbal is V 30+ but my official exam i scored a v 19.

Hello again, Indraneel. You are welcome to try the Experts' Global bundle of mock tests. I can only offer an opinion on the Quant side, with limited exposure at that (since one of my clients asked me to go through some questions with him), but what I saw resembled official questions, even if the Quant looked more difficult. It seems as though the real test has gotten harder in Quant recently, though, given the number of debriefs that discuss that very point, so maybe whipping yourself into shape that way could prove useful.

Good luck.
