Online GMAT: Room Layout Requirements?

Hello,

I am hoping to take the Online GMAT in the new few coming weeks and I saw that the room requirements for the online GMAT is to be in a enclosed, walled-off space.

The only quiet place in my house is the basement, which is mostly an open layout (there are walls but no doors, imagine there are a bunch of big arches). Although nobody comes down here and it's quiet, will the proctor not allow me to take my test here?

There's some random stuff in the basement such as a pool table and a hockey table that has a logo on it. The basement is quite large so I'm not sure how much of it I would need to show since the layout is weird.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Welcome to GMAT Club. I think the proctor will be just fine with your room. They have sometimes asked to cover up windows or other things that may interfere with the recording but otherwise if it’s big open space, I feel they would be even more open to it....

I think they want to make sure that you take the test indoors. They don’t want anybody taking it on the deck or in the backyard.....

"Prior to testing commencing your testing area and all area within arm’s reach of you during the exam must be free of personal items, including, but not limited to, watches, wallets, purses, bags, hats, large jewelry and hair clips, and coats. No devices, other than your testing workstation, or testing aids may be used or accessed during the test session or during breaks. Prohibited items and conduct include, but are not limited to: ear plugs, earbuds, head phones, paper, pens, pencils, chalkboards, writing tablets, calculators, lip balm, watch calculators, books, pamphlets, notes, including writing on articles of clothing or on one’s body, rulers, stereos or radios, digital music players, telephones or cellular (mobile) phones, stopwatches, watches (including digital, analogue, and those with flashing lights or alarm sounds), and any other electronic or photographic devices or potential aids of any kind."
 
I assume your room does not have all the above things, If yes then you are good to go.
