Hi,
I'm an Indian male who applied to LBS and Cambridge for the 2021 summer entry. However, I'm really disheartened that I got rejected from each one. I regret not signing up with an admission consultant. Below is my profile:
GMAT: 740
Work ex: 4 years in Consulting (31 months at Big4 where I gained 1 promotion, followed by 15 months at MBB)
Undergrad: Tier-2/3 Indian engineering college with GPA 7.8 which is equivalent to 78%
Extra curricular: Very active in football, held community positions in college and job
Post MBA Goal - Continue in consulting for a 2-3 years, followed by entrepreneurship
Essays were I think fairly okay. Recommendation letter first draft was written by me (because my recommender refused to take out the time), then he edited it to submit it. I understand that this is not the best practice; however, I didn't have too many choices.
I was really surprised to get a reject from Cambridge actually. Now that the admission cycles for 2021 entry is nearing its end, would you advise me to apply for Oxford in their last round (which ends on April 9, 2021)? I really want to earn my MBA education as quick as possible - my other option would be applying to INSEAD for Jan 2022 entry.

Hi sahilronaldo,
I'm sorry to hear about your applications. When applying to highly competitive Schools, it's important to remember that beyond needing a strong GMAT Score (which you have) you also need a strong OVERALL profile AND you need to properly 'market yourself' to each individual Program that you apply to. You're ultimately asking Admissions questions, so you would likely find it beneficial to speak with an Admissions Expert about your overall profile and plans. Those Experts should be able to answer your Admissions questions and help define the specific areas of your profile that could use some improvement. There's a Forum full of those Experts here:
