Hi Funkymonkey,
When you take the Official GMAT, the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores are often non-integers (and they are 'rounded off' for convenience on your Score Report); your actual Score is based on those original Scaled Scores though. Thus, the Overall Score that you receive for a particular Quant and Verbal 'combo' could vary 10 points or so depending on the rounding that took place. For example, your Q42/V34 might actually have been a Q41.6/V33.6, which is just a bit below the threshold for a 630.
Are you happy with this result? If you're looking to retest (with the goal of scoring notably higher), then before we can discuss how you might best proceed with your studies, it would help if you could provide a bit more information on how you've been studying and your goals:
Studies:
1) How long have you studied? How many hours do you typically study each week?
2) What study materials have you used so far?
3) On what dates (or approximate dates) did you take EACH of your CATs/mocks and how did you score on EACH (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores for EACH)?
Goals:
4) What is your overall goal score?
5) When are you planning to apply to Business School and what Schools are you planning to apply to?
