GMAC is really not helpful with their instructions. You would think they would actually do a better job of providing tech requirements. I can totally see how it is very confusing. On one hand, it doesn’t say anywhere that one must use a laptop but then it says all these other things which kind of seem to imply it.

The reality is that you can use a desktop or a Mac mini. I you can even take it on a laptop with an external screen as long as the laptop is closed. What they really meant to say is that you will only be able to use one set of a monitor and the one set of keyboard and one set of a mouse.

Again, people have tried using a laptop with an external monitor in the wooded was disabled external monitor so only one is used. Many have used and taken the test on the laptop with an external monitor, keyboard, mouse and WebCam.

However, reaching out to GMAT is good idea. Is provide you with a clear answer, hopefully, and it tells them how vague and unhelpful the language is. 😎

Note that the software is a little bit more temperamental and Max and seems to be more stable and windows.

Thanks for the information.

Yes the way they phrase it is a bit confusing.

I already have a macbook and after reading their guidance came to the conclusion that I would not be able to use it with a large external screen. My macbook is 13" and I'd prefer something bigger for the test.

That is the reason that I have been looking into alternative options.

I will write to them about using my macbook.

Cheers

Sure. Despite the confusing Language, You can use your MacBook with an external screen as long as your laptop screen is closed. But that means you will need an external keyboard and a mouse and a WebCam... Or at least people have been able to to date
