Quick question -- how early must I schedule the GMAT online.

I'm a deferred MBA candidate, and a lot of schools are accepting GMAT submissions until July 1. I heard that GMAT Online takes up to 7 days to release scores, so I was hoping to take the GMAT Online on June 24.

How early in advance can I sign up for this? Can I wait 24 hours in advance to ensure that I am prepared or does it have to be more than a week out/limited availability?

Thanks!

Hi baiselmareo6,

In theory, assuming that there is a 'slot' available, then you could book - and take - your Official GMAT on the same day. That having been said, there are some advantages that you could potentially gain by planning in advance and 'locking in' your Test Date for a day and time at which you will be more likely to perform at your best.

The current version of the At-home GMAT typically takes about 2-3 days before Official results are released (although sometimes it has taken longer).

1) On what dates (or approximate dates) did you take EACH of your CATs/mocks and how did you score on EACH (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores for EACH)?
2) What is your overall goal score?
3) What Schools are you planning to apply to?

GMAT assassins aren't born, they're made,

I have been revising for the GMAT for a bit over two months and I recently scored a 720 (Q48, V41) on Gmat Prep 1 exam. My target score would be something over 710. I would like to apply for master's programs in October so I'm not in a hurry for time and would like to sit the GMAT only when I feel fully prepared.

Does anyone know how long before wanting to sit the exam should I schedule the date. Ideally, I would want to be able to schedule my exam without too much anticipation just in case I set a date and then don't feel ready when the time comes. It would be super helpful to know the average waiting times and so on. Does anyone know?

Hi jppresa,

The best time to book a slot is when you consistently get your desired score in the mocks. Take a couple of mocks and if your score is consistent, then I think you are good to book a slot. All the best :)
