I'm prepping for the EA, and have tried both the EMPOWERgmat and EMPOWERea trials.
The content between the two seems similar, but the pricing is vastly different.
EMPOWERgmat Options:
1. Monthly: $99.
2. 3-months: $349.
EMPOWERea Options:
1. Monthly: N/A.
1. 4-month access: $599.
Other than profit and possibly the target audience of the EA (working professionals who might have money to burn), not sure why the EA price is so steep. In fact, EMPOWER only offers two study plans for the EA: 1 and 2 months - so I can't fathom why I would need 4 months of access.
Has anyone used both? Did you notice a differences that would justify the additional cost?
Rich, if you read this I think a $179 pay-as-you-go or a $299 2-month bundle would be more than fair and attract more students studying for the EA.

Well, mgolden, if you liked what you saw and intend to take the Executive Assessment, then I would stick with the EA side of things. You might also look into other preparation options if the $599 investment seems too steep for you. I cannot imagine many people would have gone through both EMPOWER courses since they would presumably want to pay for just the one that would help them perform their best on the exam that was required by their target programs. At the same time, many schools accept a variety of standardized test scores for their EMBA programs: GRE®, EA, GMAT™. Some, including Kellogg, waive the standardized test requirement altogether if you hold a bachelor's degree. I suppose you have looked into this already, but make sure you know exactly what each school you may be interested in does or does not require before you commit to a prep course.

I'll be happy to answer any questions that you have about those two Courses - but the immediate issue for YOU is which Exam (GMAT or EA) would be the better match for your application plans (re: the specific Programs that you plan to apply to). To that end, it would help if you could provide a bit more information on how you've been studying and your goals:
Studies:
1) Have you taken the Official GMAT or Official EA yet? If you did, then how did you score?
2) How long have you studied so far?
3) What study materials have you used over the course of your studies?
4) Have you taken any practice CATs/mocks for either Test? On what dates (or approximate dates) did you take EACH of your CATs/mocks and how did you score on EACH?
Goals:
5) What is your overall goal score?
6) When are you planning to apply to Business School and what Programs are you planning to apply to?
