Hi VIVA1060,
To start, a 690/Q48 is a fantastic overall Score - so it could be enough to get you into your first-choice School. The variations in your 4 Official results imply that you might have developed some 'bad habits' during your earlier studies that leave you open to making little mistakes (and the inconsistency in your Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores further implies that these inefficiencies exist in both the Quant and Verbal sections). If you have been studying for the better part of a year (or more), then you have to be careful about how you approach this next phase of your studies. Working through 100s of additional practice questions over the next 2.5 months - with the same approaches that you have used over the last year - will likely lead to a similar result (in the mid-600s to high-600s). This is meant to say that you will have to make some fundamental changes to how you 'see' (and respond to) BOTH the Quant and Verbal sections before you will be able to consistently score at that higher level.
Before I can offer you any additional advice for your studies, it would help if you could provide a bit more information on how you've been studying and your goals:
1) How long did you study before each of your Official GMATs? How many hours do you typically study each week?
2) What study materials have you used over the course of ALL of your studies? What “brands” of CATs/mocks have you used?
3) On what dates (or approximate dates) did you take EACH of your CATs/mocks and how did you score on EACH (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores for EACH)?
4) What Schools are you planning to apply to?
If you took either of your 2 recent Official GMATs at a Test Center, then you might also choose to purchase the Enhanced Score Report. While the ESR doesn’t provide a lot of information, there are usually a few data points that we can use to define what went wrong on Test Day (and what you should work on to score higher). If you purchase the ESR, then I'll be happy to analyze it for you.
