Dear All,
I need your suggestion on whether to follow my dream of 2nd MBA from top B-schools or not.
I am a 33M candidate, presently working in project sales for infrastructure projects. I've done engineering and MBA from a regional college (which doesn't help much in term of brand name).
presently based in Doha- Qatar, but have worked in UAE, Kuwait, Kenya & Tanzania as BDM.
Feeling stuck in my career and thinking only 2nd MBA from top -5 can rescue me from here.
I am targeting my admit from 1 to 1&1/2 years from now, which means I will be approximately 35 by the time I get into the class. ( age criteria to be noted)
I still have to give my first GMAT, and want to know, where to start?
Now considering my positives (international experience of multiple countries & 7+ year of exp.) and negatives (not so great work exp. & normal UG & PG collage), do you suggest it is wise for me to target collages like INSEAD, IIMs etc....
let us assume, i get 700+ in GMAT, what are my chances for getting into top schools.

You're ultimately asking Admissions questions, so you would likely find it beneficial to speak with an Admissions Expert about your overall profile and plans. Those Experts should be able to answer your Admissions questions and help define the specific areas of your profile that could use some improvement. There's a Forum full of those Experts here:

If you're interested in an EMBA Program, then you might consider taking the Executive Assessment (as opposed to the GMAT). Certain EMBA Programs will accept either Score as part of the application - and you would likely find the EA to be easier than the GMAT. Once you have a list of specific Programs that interest you, you should be able to determine which ones accept the EA and then we can plan out your studies from there.
If you do end up choosing to study for the GMAT, then it would be a good idea to take a FULL-LENGTH practice CAT Test sometime soon; you can access 2 for free at www.mba.com (and they come with some additional practice materials). If you want to do a little studying first, so that you can familiarize yourself with the basic content and question types, then that's okay - but you shouldn't wait too long to take that initial CAT. That score will give us a good sense of your natural strengths and weaknesses and will help provide a basis for comparison as you continue to study. A FULL CAT takes about 3.5 hours to complete, so make sure that you've set aside enough time to take it in one sitting. Once you have that Score, you should report back here (or you can feel free to PM me directly) and we can discuss the results and come up with a study plan.
