send bad scores to the schools?

Question

after the test, I have to choose whether I like to send the scores. What shall I click? I mean in case I have bad scores, shall I send them anyway?

Let's say you bomb the GMAT and don't want to send Acme B-School your score. A month later you take the test again, do great, and send your score to Acme. My understanding is that Acme will see both the score you just sent plus your earlier results. And some schools even insist on averaging the two scores, no matter your previous intentions. Can anyone confirm this?

And by the way, you do have the option to cancel the test, but you have to make that decision before you see the score. Of course, if you do cancel, you won't ever get to see the score. I'm cheap - if I've forked out $250, I might as well see what how I did. And I believe that any school who receives scores from a subsequent test will see that you sat for a test that you then cancelled.

Any other thoughts on this?

which could turn out completely unjustified, in case the GMAC doesn't send anything beside the requested final testresult. I really hope you are at fault with the calculating-average-assumption of more attempts to the gmat.

but now, since I am well prepared for the test, nothing can stop me from sending my result!

You May Cancel Your Scores

The only opportunity that you will have to cancel your scores is at the test center. Immediately after you complete the testâ€”but before you view your scoresâ€”you will have the option to cancel your scores. You cannot cancel your scores after they are displayed or reported to you.
If You Cancel Your Scores

* Your scores cannot be reinstated.
* You will not be eligible for a refund of any test fees.
* The score cancellation will remain a part of your permanent record and will be reported on all future score reports.
* You must wait 31 days to retake the exam

yeah, I read this. but I didn't really get the point of NOT sending the scores. On one side you don't know your final score, and no the other side I don't see the point why it should be bad to send your scores? I will send any scores, I guess. In case you don't convince me not to do it.

They're going to see it anyway if you retake, and if you cancel, they'll see that you cancelled the score. Prepare as best you can, stop worrying about it...stay focused on what's important so that you aren't distracted during your test.

If you bomb but retake and do better, no worries. They look at your highest score. But if you cancel before you see it, you'll never know. However, if you KNOW you're bombing during the test (I did that once when I was sick), then cancel. Otherwise, bite the bullet.
