Hi All,
With a pathetically low GMAT verbal score (laughable, as I scored a mere 12 points), I am aware that I need to significantly improve my reading comprehension.
My goal is to improve reading comprehension, followed by speed.
I have 2.5 months to increase my score to something respectable.
To improve my reading, I have a few questions:
1. I can read the Economist or other articles, but when I read them, what am I really looking for to improve my comprehension. As a start, should I just try to paraphrase the articles? How do I even know my paraphrasing is even right?
2. What are the elements I am looking for in the Economist and other articles? The same elements the GMAT is testing me?
3. I have the OG 2017, 2018, Executive Assessment, and all the online GMAT RC passages, and even LSAT material. Can't I forego the Economist and just read all the RC passages and practice with them? Isn't that a ton of reading anyway?
4. Is reading 1 passage a day enough? How many passages makes sense to start with?
5. How can I practice with none GMAT articles?
6. With non-GMAT articles, how do I even know if I'm right about what I am reading? Obviously if I read RC passages, isn't that enough?
7. Which GMAT books have the most realistic passages?
8. Are the RC passages in the OG up to 700 level or less?
9. Lastly, reading poorly is worse than not reading at all, right? So how do I set up good reading habits in life?
Save me please.
