I recently purchased two volumes of the Manhattan study guide (All the Quant and All the Verbal) and was surprised at how few practice questions they contain (only 3-5 per chapter). Is that normal for this series? Should I buy the Foundation volumes too?

Hi swallowsbreath,

You could consider tagging one of the Manhattan instructors (like DmitryFarber) here.

Generally speaking, official practice questions are the most useful, especially for verbal, so you may want to, as GmatTutorKnight mentioned, get some of the official guides and/or official practice question sets on mba.com.

In the foundation volume, a lot of easy questions are available. You can have challenging questions in the advanced quant book. You can use the link to filter questions from your preferred resources: https://gmatclub.com/forum/search.php?view=search_tags

Practice makes a man perfect. I think you should practice proper these two volumes of the Manhattan study guide and if you are not satisfied,then you can search online. You will find huge resources there.

The Foundations book has many exercises on which to practice the micro-skills discussed in that book, but not many (if any) GMAT-like questions.

The questions in our "All the--" series are meant to be examples of the skills/strategies/concepts discussed in a chapter, but we highly suggest you use the Official Guide(s) for actual GMAT question work.

A good drill, in fact, is to read a chapter and then scan the relevant section of the official guide to find questions in which you think you can apply something you read about in that chapter. See if you can recognize something in a question that triggers a thought/strategy/concept from the chapter, and do that question in the manner you've studied.
