I got an AWA 5 and I am retaking the GMAT in 7 days. I have basically decided to not improve on AWA and just take it again in the same practise that I had last time. Does an AWA 5 affect my Top 10 B school chances?

AWA 5 is on the higher side !!. It will be amenable for the top B schools as well.

5 on the AWA is high enough for any school.

Hi HrithuOlickel,

Most Schools expect that an Applicant should be able to write a decently-organized essay in a short period of time (which shows your ability to communicate effectively with written words). As long as you score at least a 4.0 on the AWA, then you should be fine at most Programs. With a 5.0 on your 1st attempt (and assuming that you can score at that level - or better - again), then that Score would be fine for all of the Schools that you plan to apply to.

AWA of 5 is pretty solid:). You'll have nothing to worry about with that score.
