New to the forums.
I've been preparing off and on for the better part of a year and a half. Started with the Nova Press GMAT Prep Course book, then hit the PR book, then finally the OG.
With the OG, I scored badly on their diagnostic. Over the next several months after that, I did all the questions, section by section, starting with weakest question types, checked my answers, then re-did the questions I answered incorrectly until I either got them all right or narrowed myself down to 2 or 3 (for the RC's, I re-read each passage then re-did the questions I originally answered incorrectly).
My 3 biggest weak spots are (still):
-Critical Reasoning
-Data Sufficiency (in most cases, I ended up confusing "can this question be answered?" with "what's the answer?")
-AWA (for some deranged, reason, my mind draws a complete BLANK).
I just purchased the Kaplan Comprehensive and Arco books; I've heard the Arco book is great fodder for improving one's AWA, but then found their advice to be similar to other book brands.
I was deciding between Veritas Prep and
Manhattan GMAT to help prepare. Then I stumbled upon these forums, which made me consider GMAX Online, and therefore consider spending $1500 on something more practical.
I'll decide on GMAX over the next few days (the video clips and price tag have been helpful in my decision-making).
I intend to take the test in late March/early April, so obviously I need to turn it up a few notches.
Help.
