Hello. I wrote the first of the two practice tests from the prep software today. I was happy to score 700, but was a little surprised by my scores from each section. I got 12 of 37 wrong in the quantitative section and 9 of 41 in the verbal. It would seem that that is a large percentage of incorrect responses to still score so high. Is there a reason why this could be?

I did notice that in each section I had about 30 minutes left when I finished. Does time have any bearing on your score?

Thanks

This is strange because I also took the practice test couple of days back and got 18 wrong in the quantitative section and 18 wrong in the verbal section. I was able to only score 440.

Since this is a CAT, not all questions have the same weightage, so you could get the same number of questions wrong and yet score higher. Petican you seem to be going in the right direction with the tests. Try to improve on your accuracy and you would do well. Don't rush through questions. Spend a reasonable amount of time on each of them. As you can see you can miss a few questions and still score very high.
