important consultation on the gmat exam

Hi guys, quick consultation here.

I took the online GMAT exam and was on my phone during the break (not during the exam), I got caught and am now banned from GMAT for 3 years. I appealed but don't think that this will help. Is there anything I can do. the MBA was my dream and they just took it away for ever.

Also, can I take the EA exam or I am banned from that to? If I do take the EA, will schools be notified about my GMAT violation or they are unrelated (If I choose to send them the EA score)?

I am also considering just doing the GRE, how hard is it after scoring 730 on GMAT official simulations. and what is the best study source.

If you decide to take the GRE, consider taking an Official GRE mock (ETS) after getting a bit familiar with the material/structure.

How would you study to the GRE?

The GRE is somewhat similar to the GMAT. So, to a large degree, your preparation for the GMAT has prepared your for the GRE as well.

At the same time, there are types of questions that appear on the GRE, mainly Quantitative Comparison, Text Completion, and Sentence Equivalence, that don't appear on the GMAT. So, to master the GRE, you'll have to develop some new skills. Also, since the GRE emphasizes use of many fairly sophisticated vocabulary words, you may have to learn some vocabulary as well.

So, you're probably somewhat prepared for the GRE though you're probably not ready to achieve a score that would work for your target schools.

Accordingly, your best move would be to take a GRE practice test and see how you do to get a sense of how much and what type of preparation you'll need to do in order to achieve a GRE score that fits your goals. While many schools slightly prefer the GMAT, virtually all schools do accept the GRE. So, you can use the GRE to make your MBA dream happen.

Just be careful if you take the GRE online. ETS quickly cancels a GRE score if there is any indication that the test-taker cheated. So, seek to be consistent in your performance on the test, doing well on easy and medium questions and the essay as well as on hard questions, and don't look around a lot or do anything that makes it appear that you are up to something.
