My recommendation is always to go more intensively for a short period of time because the shorter is your prep, the less you forget during the time and the less you need to refresh. My suggestions to shoot for three months, not six or nine. Because inevitably if you shoot for six months you’ll spend nine or 12 and if you shoot for three, usually you’ll be done within six and that’s kind of a short-term memory limit at least for me.

However, there’s no way around studying and quality studying. If you can put in 10 to 15 hours of high-quality time which means time before work without distractions where you can really concentrate, that can be enough especially if you’re not starting from a very low score butif you have a lot to go and a lot of ground to cover, then you’ll need to put in the time. And you may need all the time you can get but again keep in mind that time you put in right now, is not the same as putting a few months before your test.

Having said all of this mumbo-jumbo, I think a good place to start is take a diagnostic test and get a sense of how much you need to improve.

Hi andrewrover,

I believe I responded to you elsewhere, but I would just enjoy your summer and then hit the books hard in the fall. Feel free to reach out if you need any general advice.
