Hello.
Regarding the GMAT Focus Edition, the official site states: "Included in your GMAT Focus Edition registration, you have the option to send your Official Score Report to up to five (5) programs for free within a 48-hour period. After this period, or if you want to send your score to more programs, you can send additional score reports for a fee."
Which basically means that you need to have a list of 5 schools/programs ready that you'd like to apply to. Which is fine, but does it mean that I should have already started the application process to the 5 schools/programs that I selected?
- If yes, does my report automatically get attached to my application? But do BSchools (that require the GMAT score) even accept applications without the GMAT score, in the first place?
- If no, then does my score just sit in their system till I start applyng to them and then automtically attach itsef to my application?
I'm new to the whole BSchool application process, please explain to me like you'd explain it to a complete beginner.
This would help me undersand when to give my GMAT.

Hi. Welcome to GMAT Club.
So, it is a good idea to send your scores to 5 schools that you want to target (which means that you need to have an idea where you want to apply to BEFORE you take the GMAT). The nice thing about it is that 5 schools are included for free. If you want to send a score report later, it is like $35 per report... pricey if you apply to 5 or 7 programs.
However, you do not need to have an account or an application. You can send a score this year for next or even for 2 years later. All you are doing is SHARING a score with the school that they have ability to access and verify but you don't need an application in the system. They will be able to match it later IF and WHEN you apply. Many send scores and end up not applying to those schools.
PS. As a matter of fact, you can't really apply for the next year until around July 15th. (many applications open even later).

You dont need to have an active application to submit your score. Your college application and score reach independently to the institute and they get paired later based on your details.
