Payment error

Question

Hi I was trying to make a payment using VISA card but received error saying - "We're unable to process your payment. Please select an alternate payment type." So I thought of using someone else's card but in a page prior to the payment page where we are supposed to verify billing information it says - "This information must match the information registered to your selected payment method in an upcoming step." So I wanted to understand that if I use someone else's card to make a payment can it be an issue as the billing information page has my name and details and card details would be different?

So if I plan to use my parent's card, should I enter thier details in billing information? Currently it shows my details by default but wanted to be sure if I can their details, hope it does not cause an issue?

Hey so I tried entering a different card's details on the payment page but it says that "The credit card cannot be processed as entered. Try again." Should I be entering the name and details of my father in the billing information page as well that appears prior to the payment page. Wanted to confirm that billing details page shall contain candidate's details or the card holder details?

You should try entering your father's details (in "billing information"), as the payment processor may be verifying address details in addition to CVV. If that doesn't work, try using a card that doesn't require an SMS code to be entered.

Finally, don't worry too much about this. Just make sure that in your GMAT profile, your name, DOB, and citizenship are entered correctly.
